pull down to refresh

People who say that parents are a child’s first teachers have apparently not met my son yet.
He was transferring his cup ramen to a bigger bowl when he remarked that his kindergarten teacher had told him something about steam, the white thing rising up from hot stuff.
Except that it isn’t exactly steam, I told him, it’s water vapour. Steam is invisible.
A lot of people make that mistake, I added for good measure, not wanting to put his kindergarten teacher down.
But why is steam invisible? My son remained unconvinced. I could tell from the look on his face that he thinks steam = white thing rising from hot things. His kindergarten teacher was the first to cement this logic in his mind. He won’t change the neural pathway soon for goodness knows what reason. Loyalty?
His old man used to work as a Science teacher and milked out four A students out of an uninspiring class! I even have an article devoted to water! But my credentials are worth nothing to this boy. Cries. 😭
I think we should just switch the meanings. Everyone uses “steam” the way your son does and no one cares about whatever the hell “water vapor” is.
