Bip 177 is a proposal to change the nomenclature of redefining bitcoin's base unit, effectively making 1 satoshi = 1 bitcoin and thus changing fixed supply from 21 million bitcoins to 2.1 quadrillion.

Is this is an attempt to control language?

Never mind that this isn't how languages evolve in reality, ask any linguist. What more comes to mind is Orwell's 1984:
“In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it.”
By controlling language, the state limits the ability to think critically or rebel. Ooof; the very people who seemingly want stateless money behave just like an overbearing state.
Already OP_RETURN drama has showcased how bitcoin community's "town talk" has become perverse but I feel like this takes it to new level. Bravo, bitcoin, bravo.

The BIP itself says what it is an attempt to do, if you are interested: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0177.mediawiki

Why can't people just get a grip on sats and stick to them? why complicate things further with these ludicrous alternatives?
