Today, I could actually leave school directly after dismissal, but I chose to ask 6 students (4 from one class, another 2 from the adjacent class) to stay back to attempt last year’s Mid-Year Exam. These are my weakest kids, so I painstakingly taught them how to source for the answers by scanning and holding the key words in their minds.
Then, I wanted to leave school, but my colleague was having a crisis with the printing of exam papers. The trusty main printer had broken down. He had to resort to using a normal printer to print out scripts. I am as loyal as kids clamouring for Minecraft toys at McDonald’s every Thursday, so I stayed with him to staple the papers manually.
All these roadblocks would have been fine, except that my son asked me for five minutes to play at the playground today. I thought he has outgrown the playground, but apparently not today. He knows to ask me for five minutes because that is all I can spare.
Feeling a little bit of the characteristic mum’s guilt in which I kinda neglect my own child as a result of taking care of everyone else, haha.
