On May 22, 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz made the first purchase of a physical item using Bitcoin, buying two pizzas from Jeremy Sturdivant for 10,000 bitcoin.
At the time of the transaction, 10,000 bitcoin were valued at $41. Don't forget to celebrate today's holiday with a slice of pizza!

This is an early post from my Bitcoin Calendar project, which will publish this to Nostr later this evening. While stackers are well aware of this holiday, I wanted to give courtesy to @sn and share this here first.
