magisterium.com is the actual Chatbot. I think this will bother many devout Catholics for good reason. I wonder how small the venn diagram is for people that have both a deep understanding of the Magisterium and the church, as well as AI. Specifically LLMs and chatbots.
Edit: There are multiple chatbots and they seem to be set up with specific focuses. I can see why they are named what they are named. Makes more sense as I think about it. Still skeptical.
Mostly because we don't really have a good understanding of how LLMs work as a culture. If used properly this could be a very useful tool. I still trust people more though.

I think if I had any questions I would just ask my Parrish tbh.

Yeah... this is the way. I think a tool like this is really good for the casually curious and then researchers/students.
This is one of the valid uses I see for LLMs. A search tool basically. When you have massive piles of documents to sort through a more advanced tool like this can be a help.
One of the points of the church is to be a community where we can ask questions. Any questions and feel safe doing so and know that we will be heard and receive the attention of our brothers in Christ. A machine will never replace that and those seeking this are missing the point.
Its like the video I posted a while back of John Piper asking ChatGPT to write a prayer. Its words. Empty words. They might sound good but there is no soul. No emotion. Its not real. Humans can be tricked. We can think things are real but they are not real. There are many confused people today that do not get this.

Oh I see what you mean now. Most of these ai searches can do research on different doctrines especially if you feed it in pieces, it could also cause calamity like you said which would be bad if you were to use it for church or something you expect to preach about, I doubt anyone out there does. There is a great podcast out there with Alex Jones CEO of the Hallow app and he has a great take on all this stuff. I’ll see if I can find it and post it later.

Yeah, all and all I think technology is good but there are always tradeoffs. The shovel was once technology. So was the wheel. We can use technology to better our lives and that includes our spiritual well being. We can use it to glorify God and spread the Gospel. It matters how we do this though and our intents always matter.

Yes intentionality is everything!
I think Alex, as long as I've been following him really does a great job of explaining it the best. Its hard to run a company these days but having a relationship with God for me is the first step to do that everyday, so I lead with that first.
