I know this isn't a movie, but I figured I would post here anyway. Stackers have been recommending Mr Robot to me on SN for years, but I finally watched the first episode tonight. I can tell right away it will be fun. I don't know what took me so long. In addition to the whole benevolent hacker thing, I'm a sucker for the NYC scenes. This will keep me busy for a while.
Glad you're finally watching it! It's fantastic and goes in some incredible directions over the years. Malik's performance is just such a breakthrough role.
(And there's plenty of TV discussion here; I'm guilty of initiating some of it myself.)

I haven't seen it. What streaming service is it on?

I'm watching it on Tubi. I'm cheap. You have to deal with ads.

Looks like it is on Prime Video here in Canada.

In the US you need to pay extra to rent it.

I thought it was a very good show! Rami does a great job of becoming the character.
You may not run into this, but there was a point (about half way through I think) that I started losing interest in the show. I took a little break and kept watching anyway, and it picked back up and I enjoyed the rest of it! I only mention it because I've heard of a fair number of people quitting after a while!

Good tip. I'm only half way through the second episode, and it certainly has my attention so far.

I was so happy to finally have characters on a show use a computer realistically! You'll have to let us know what you think once you're finished!

Make sure you revisit my Mr Robot posts after you’ve finished!

They put so much attention to detail in that show. like every object in a room and camera angle is carefully picked.
example off the top of my head: a scene where a character walks past jars of honey that shouldn't be there AKA honeypots.
Reminds me of Breaking bad when Walt would take some subtle habits from the people he killed, like not eating crusts. Or the fact that the way Walt and his wife dressed, the colors, indicated their current relationship mood and close less. Basically if they were wearing bright colors, dark colors, the same colors or polar opposite colors.
I love when show runners reward the audience for paying extra attention

We need a reboot. This show was ahead of its time, and really got a lot of people into the crypto scene. To think, it first aired ten years ago. We have come a long way.

It was a waste of time. And i normally like wasting time with watching series. But this one did not catch me.

I'm glad to see you're on board. It's the series I've watched the most and definitely the one I love the most. It can be confusing for some people or even feel slow at times, but it's worth every second. I don't see many people talking about it, and that's understandable—seems like a lot of people watched the first few seasons and gave up. Don't give up—go all the way to the end, because it's a complete and tightly wrapped series.
I usually space out the years between my rewatches—this time I’ve left a three-year gap, and I think it’s time to watch it again. I even thought about starting a series of posts here about it and the topics it explores.

Glad you finally dove in! I binged Mr Robot a while back and it shot straight into my “all–time favorites” list. Rami Malek absolutely owns the role of Elliot—his little micro-expressions and voice-overs make the whole hacker-mindset feel so real. 😄 No spoilers, but get ready for some wild twists and a few “wait… what?!” moments. Enjoy it!
