I couldn’t find a bitcoin accepting merchants map that had custom filters. I wanted to filter out all the ATMs (just looking for bitcoin accepting businesses when traveling), wanted to distinguish the on-chain only accepting businesses from lightning accepting businesses, and wanted a quick way to see which ones have been verified recently.

Zoom to your desired map area and then hit run. Note, it will time out if you try to do the whole world at once. You can always increase the timeout time in line 2.

It would be great to find a mobile app that can do custom filters based on openstreetmap tags like this. I tried ‘Go Map!!’, ‘OsmAnd Maps’, ‘Organic Maps’, and ‘Every Door’ and none could do it. If someone knows a mobile app with custom openstreetmap tag filters, feel free to share.

If anyone can figure out why some places aren’t making the search results, like this business for example: https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/781070658 I’d be interested. Seems the vast majority are, and I haven’t figured out the exceptions.
