Anyone with experience printing shirts know if QR codes on shirts work, or is it janky and unreliable?

it depends on a lot of factors, mostly dimension of the QR, printing type, and durability of the print. I suggest reading this https://me-qr.com/page/blog/t-shirt-qr-code, there are also more articles online.
The best approach is to try, fail and improve the design during the process until it works

I was actually just thinking of getting a SN shirt but add my referral code as QR on it haha
Thanks for the link, will read more on it.

ahaha, such a great idea... we can definitely provide it for you with a custom print! Where you'd like the QR code placed?
Any particular model you like most? https://AGORA.ftp.sh/tag/t-shirt/

Toss-up between the logo and full text variants. Might have to flip a coin to choose.
For the QR logo, either the back or the front, under the SN logo/text.
In the back, anyone can try scanning it without me knowing. In the front it's more obvious if they try, so it would be invite-only haha
