  • $95 million through the Federal Railroad Administration's Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements program ($59 million) and Railroad Crossing Elimination program ($36 million);
  • $64 million through the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Improvement Program ($30 million) and Airport Terminals Program $32 million);

  • $7 million through the Maritime Administration's Port Infrastructure Development Program.
The awards represent a portion of the 3,200 in unobligated grants left behind by former President Joe Biden's administration, according to the USDOT. Thus far, the agency has awarded 405 of those grants, which total approximately $5 billion. This is about 13% of the grant backlog.

My Thoughts 💭

Drop in the bucket. It’s laughable the FAA got such a small amount. While America is trying to make progress with improving the infrastructure they are just worlds away from actually catching up on the capital investment needed to bring the infrastructure to standard.

I wouldn't be surprised if a significant portion of this support already has an "owner" (who will receive it).
