Hey stackers, I'm considering getting into Bitcoin mining more as a learning experience than for profit (I know ASICs dominate the game).
I came across the Bitcoin Nerdminer v2, and I'm wondering:
šŸ  Is it a good tool to learn about mining, hashes, blocks, and how the network functions?
⚔ Can it realistically generate any sats — maybe through Lightning payouts or something — or is it purely educational with zero chance of rewards?
šŸ”Œ Has anyone here actually used it? How was the setup experience? Any cool insights or limitations?
Not expecting to hit blocks, but curious if it's worth it for someone starting to dive deeper into Bitcoin mining from home.
Thanks, looking forward to your feedback! 🟧

I think it's ok to learn a little about mining, but you should probably step up a notch or two. I have a Nerdaxe which does about half a terra hash. I'm using it to solo mine at the moment, but I used to use it with Oceans bolt12 payouts. I think it paid about 20 sats per block found at current mempool fees.
Using the Nerdminer wouldn't be enough for even a 1 sat payout.

Thank you very much for your realistic comment, my brother.

I haven't used one myself, but anything that can actually hash and submit shares to a pool (including a solo pool) will help tremendously with learning how it all works.
