SGA and Siakam were the Conference Finals MVPs
Most of the stackers can still catch me, but only if something unexpected happens. Good luck!
I believe I said the prize is 10k. I'll double check that in the event I don't win.

Got some game theory going on this round, haha.

Waiting for @Undisciplined to post his picks

He is going to pick Thunder and SGA. He is in the lead and that is by far the most probable outcome. The strategy to watch is @gnilma. He can either go Thunder as well and hope to win with an MVP other than SGA or he can pick the Pacers and win with the underdog.

But he can wait for everyone else, and if we all picked Pacers, he can't lose by picking Pacers, even if the result is Thunder, SGA. Can even hedge his bets and go Pacers, SGA.
I really don't see anyone else winning finals MVP if OKC wins the chip. But if Pacers win, Hali or Siakam are both possible MVP outcomes.
I'll take my time on choosing this round, haha.

This is exactly the conversation we had on the lost pod, about how you would be approaching the pick.

Aren't we all?

I've been thinking how I should approach this pick and while I was driving my son home from the playground, I realized I was making it more complicated than it should be.
In the end, it comes down to if I want to be correct (based on what I know and what I believe), or if I want a chance to win this contest. And I think being correct (or at least being true to myself) is more important to me than winning 10k sats. And I strongly believe that the OKC will win the chip and SGA will be finals MVP. So that will be my pick, no games, no calculations, just what I believe in. After all, I cannot be the self proclaimed NBA guru of SN if I don't pick according to what I believe to be true.
Again, to confirm, I pick OKC to win the championship and SGA to win finals MVP.

Let's do it! Almost impossible to win but I will try.
OKC SGA

You're going to need me to do something weird
reply
Hahaha, I know but at least it's worth trying it. My main idea was to avoid everyone picking Pacers.
reply
@gnilma was onto me. If everyone had picked the Pacers, then I could just safely pick the Pacers. You've sort of forced my hand, now.
reply
On my defense , I made my pick earlier than @gnilma's comment.
reply
Good for Siakam! He had a great series
reply
He really did...but he didn't deserve MVP
reply
Who would you choose? Hali?
reply
Yeah. The Pacers go as Hali goes.

I also thought Haliburton should have been ECF MVP. I heard somewhere, I forgot where, that the vote was 5-4 split between Siakam and Haliburton. Haliburton had a couple bad games, and that inconsistency was probably what cost him the ECF MVP.

I'll write up my thoughts about this stuff, at some point, but I think that's just a flat out wrong way to think about it.
From a value standpoint, they won the games he played well in and they lost the other ones. It's not about who played the best, although I still think that was Hali, it's about whose play mattered the most.

that's a hell of a longshot

Yes. The most fun outcome is the most likely outcome. Or not.
I should have probably waited for @gnilma to pick to see what tactic he took and if he went Pacers just pick whoever of Haliburton or Siakam he didn't choose. But what's the fun in that.

If any of you end up winning, you should slip some of the sats to @Carresan, because he's forcing me to take OKC.
