I saw this when it was announced. I assumed he meant they were using Secp256k1 and ECDSA or Schnorr. Hopefully, that's wrong and they're using double ratchet. I found him citing the programming language they used as the weirdest thing. I imagine he had a 30 second meeting with the team lead and just tweeted the dang thing.
