It's an asymmetry problem. Basically, no one behaves this way, but when there are millions of fans you get one-in-a-million outliers.
Unfortunately, if you're a public persona and have the means, you probably do have to hire private security.
I agree with the pros but when you are talking for example a D2 Football school or a Troy being threatened they just do not have the assets to deal with this especially the players.
That is why I made the point to say we had to do better because you are right it isnt a common issue so to speak but it is a sports fan issue and sports fans need to do better. Imagine some college kid at Troy, App State, etc. who isnt making hardly much if any NIL money because those schools do not have it and they upset a Alabama, Texas A&M, Ohio State, etc. and those players from the small school get threatened and possibly hurt. Well they were not really public figures like a Alabama or Ohio State player they were just a person getting a degree who pulled off an upset.
Fans have to do better for these people. Those that pulled of a Cinderella or miracle game.

The problem is that "If everyone would just..." is never a real solution. It's just empty wishing.
I don't know what the solution will be, and it will differ widely by case, but there will need to be solutions that account for this crazy reality.

Tbh the best solution would be to throw their asses behind bars and scare the shit outta the idiots that do this. Do this go to jail for idk 6 months that should scare them enough
