French Open women's semi-finals
  • LIVE: Second seed Coco Gauff from USA is playing French wildcard Lois Boisson
  • Gauff was runner-up in 2022; Boisson began tournament as world number 361
  • Winner will play Aryna Sabalenka, who defeated Iga Swiatek in three sets to reach Saturday's final
  • World number one Sabalenka bidding for first Paris title
  • Swiatek was three-time defending champion at Roland Garros
Gauff breaks in first game
  • Boisson 0-1 Gauff*
  • Strong start from Gauff as she breaks Boisson in the first game.
  • The American will be delighted with that and even more delighted with the crowd's reaction. Quiet.
You can tell the french crowd wants to get into it but they haven't had much to cheer for yet. Lois Boisson will have wanted to win that service game and get the crowd into it. But Gauff is very technically sound and complete as a player, even her volleys are picture perfect. I think this is her best surface.

Andreeva vs Coco would have been so much better than Boisson vs Coco. I'm still confused how Boisson managed to beat Andreeva. Dammit!

Maybe the French wanted something to cheer about. I don't remember if I had ever seen a player ranked 300+ play in the semis of any major grand slams.

Andreeva really melted down because of the crowd. She's just 18 and she'll come back stronger. I was hoping Boisson would give Coco also a tough fight, but it's not happening

The crowd is just silent today. But it has erupted like Mount Etna when she took her 1st game in the 2nd set. I don't like this local crowd at Garros. The crowds at all three major GSs are much much better.

Will go silent now since she's losing, probably 6-3 or 6-2. For sure!

Game and first set - Gauff
Boisson 1-6 Gauff
Some really entertaining points in there but the scoreboard says that was pretty comfortable for Coco Gauff.
She has managed this match perfectly so far, keeping the crowd quiet and unleashing that power when she needs to.

Boisson is on the scoreboard!
First game for the frenchwomen!
Boisson 1-4 Gauff*
She offered Gauff a little glimmer of a chance at 40-30 but a big serve sees out the game for the world number 361.

Gauff breaks
Boisson 0-3 Gauff in Set 2
Boisson's loopy forehand is long and that's the double break for Gauff.
Tough going for the Frenchwoman so far inside a fairly quiet Court Philippe Chatrier.
