Many people decry Musk being involved at all and Trump's connections and all the unfair deals... blah blah blah. Its all old hat stuff that has been happening for decades. Maybe even since the early days of the Republic. The problem is when you have centralized control over massive parts of the economy this stuff is inevitable. Its more raw and blatant now but its not new and I really don't know if it is even worse.
When you look at the revolving doors in FDA and the Pentagon with industry it stinks. Its just not talked about by post politicians. Its only talked about when it is directed to one party by the other. The system is never in question. Its not that there is corruption. Of course there is. Its that the incentives encourage corruption and punish those that do not partake in the corruption. Its a corrupting system of state power.
Its not capitalism. Its corporatism and those that refuse to play lose. So we must find some round about way to subvert it :)
