Quick question tho: I dont know if its bugged or... I've not been getting any sats since a week (not even the daily 1sat/min). I withdrew a couple of days ago and since then I cant earn anymore. Can anyone look into this?
True, forgot about the file formats. I m guessing, trying to format every file from a EXT4 to a NTFS would take me as long/ if not longer than just downloading/ validating the blockchain on to a new SSD.
But hold on why should I point to my windows node when the new node is ready synced? is this for backup reasons?
I m new to linux so bare with me.. so you are saying if I copy the bitcoin data folder from the hard drive of my windows node to my RPI OS would that ease the process?
Ofc will do. I get that about the politicians but the people here really are more in power. If the whole EU would start with it then the swiss would be in pressure.
I m guessing the main thing to upgrade here would be the CPU because the SSD is a brand new one.
I m running it on a i5 6500 but you are right the bigger the blockchain/blocksize gets the longer it would take you to validate all of it.
Okey, good if thats normal..
but does that even make a big difference? It would still have to validate the blocks right?
I m going to keep it running as it is for now, it will be done eventually...
I was just a little worried about the heat the SSD is generating plus the "freezes" on some blocks.
Thanks for the responds.
yea, true I m aware of the increase in blocksize the further I m into the download/validation.
For now I cool some aluminum piece and basically sandwich the SSD with it so the heat can at least be conducted by it but I might add a fan aswell, thanks for the idea.
I m running it on Win10 but I want to move it to linux later on (since i m not that familiar with it rn), this is kind of a test run.
