I could not get it to look right using text in the reply.
I put it up on GitHub: https://github.com/cknosis/bash_core_lightning_scripts/blob/main/adjust_fees_tov3.sh
Please let me know if I got any of the logic you suggested wrong or have trouble accessing GitHub.
You can download the scripts I am using from here: https://github.com/cknosis/bash_core_lightning_scripts
Feedback, and comments are much appreciated.
@javier Much thanks to this guide's author for helping to improve my fee management. I run a Core Lightning node (not LND) named cknosis8lightning.online on a leased Ubuntu server in a data center in NJ. Being an old Unix nerd and not wanting to open up a lot of potential security holes, I prefer to do things using the command line. With the help of Grok, I created a bash script to implement the recommendations from Javier and in this post. Here is the bash script I have tied to a cron job. I would appreciate any feedback. I am happy to share the script, just send me an email.
Questions for the new stackers:
How did you find out about SN?
I was referred by a user that runs the bc lightning node Don Quixote Bank.
How difficult was it to get started? Any feedback?
I have CLNrest turned off on my lightning node, so the instructions for connecting my node did not work. I opened a channel to SN and can now pay invoices for postings.
How much experience do you have with lightning?
I have been running a Core Lightning node on a server in a NJ hosting service for about 6 months.
Have you realized that you need to attach a wallet to receive sats? Not yet, I am hoping to open an account with Strike that will allow me to do so.
How was your first week on SN? Good, thank you!
