I guess using https://legend.lnbits.com leads to the same results = Easy & fast access to burner wallets?

reply

Yes but this uses Cashu for privacy

reply

What makes cashu private?

reply

From my understanding: You get a “token” when depositing, this token is a cryptographic signature, created by the system. When you then later on withdraw, you provide this signature in a way that they can verify that it is valid, but they can never know exactly which deposit it correlates to.

Pretty much like normal bank notes? Correct me if I am wrong, if someone has a better understanding

reply

It's a bearer's instrument right?

I'm confused how you can give the token to someone else with out involving the mint. (Couldn't you reveal the token to someone as payment and then double spend it?)

reply

Yes you can, and I think they are only meant to be used by yourself or that the recipient redeems them instantly

reply

Awesome. People are going crazy over the price and exchanges and bangers like this go unnoticed, it's crazy.

It's a pity that there is no donation link there.

reply

Out of curiosity, can't one do that already using the lntipbot in reddit?

Deposit to it from an LN wallet, withdraw to a different LN wallet, sats history lost.

Or am I missing something?

reply

This gives you privacy from the operators as well which you don't have with lntipbot

reply

How? Privacy is based on trusting a centralized entity that relays the transaction. They should be the same.

reply

After a bit of playing around with it, I think the sats are either stored as cashu tokens or are easily converted to/from cashu tokens.

The documentation is not clear though.

reply

It's also the same as transacting to a custodial wallet and doing your transaction from there.

Actually, one could also use Stacker News for this.

reply

New alpha site just came online. Uses Chaumian mints to blind payments. This is the api site. No app yet, but pretty easy to try via OpenAPI

reply

We should somehow standardise the donate@example.com address for donations to projects.

Thus, an easy way to donate would be to pay thru LN to donate@asats.io, without asking for donation addresses etc.

For additional comments on Anonsats, see also another post found here on SN:

Anonsats seems to be pushing some flex on Twitter - any clue who they are? #100447 https://twitter.com/anonsats/status/1601205458320363523 [Nitter]

reply

Interesting service.

Will try to remember this because I'd actually use this one day ... if there is a nice UI instead of this API

reply

/wallet/deposit Anonsats Lightning Deposit is loading forever, never got a LN invoice.

I gave it a try! Works as expected, but I don't exactly understand how it works. Is my balance stored as a blinded signature, so that they can't link an incoming transaction with an outgoing transaction? And if this is the case, how can this be confirmed, without trusting the creators?
