In a bright spot for the country's poor, the price of a basic food basket tracked by INDEC, representing the cost of essential food items to meet minimum nutritional requirements, fell by 0.4% between April and May, the agency said.

Overall, prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks were up half a percentage from April, among the lowest increases among the categories INDEC tracks.

By all means, things are going so much better and so much faster than I ever hoped the would, even in my wildest, most unhinged dreams, that I stopped being sensitive about it. It just do not feels real. After decades spent in a soviet shithole, you get used to it in the sense that this changes, what should feel normal, feels rare. And it's only accelerating.

That said, we are of course, as Milei himself always stated: "at least 5 years from starting to be a mediocre economy, 10 years from being a minimally decent economy, and 35 years from being a super-power, if the path is kept strictly".
