I feel what will really help me at this stage of my life is when veteran parents share horrendous anecdotes of how horrible their 2-year-old children were instead of reminiscing whimsically about their halycon days.
So, I gave my daughter some chips (before her dinner!) to pacify her so that I could shower her.
Didn’t work. Being impossible as usual.
“冲凉！” I shouted.
She started crying.
My son looked at me and said, “你也是想哭。 😭 (You also want to cry.)” Definitely not the first time I had expressed this sentiment. He knows my 口头禅 (catchphrase) by heart!
My shouting worked.
Managed to shower her.
Would have offered her my phone so that she could decompress by watching “Cocomelon”, but it seems that she is riveted in what her elder brother is watching. Which explains why I’m typing this with an ugly frown.
Please don’t tell me that I will miss this period of my life. Just don’t.
P.S: Passed my phone to her in the end. She was apparently waiting for me to finish typing. Smart girl. 👍
Being a parent is an excellent stage, my friend @cryotosensei your children is sometimes a bit difficult, but the daily learning process involves knowing their dreams, their questions, and everything. Of course, now you have to have the same patience your parents had when you were little; life is a cycle.
But my parents entrusted me to a nanny when I was young. I think they weren’t as entrenched in the parenting trenches as me haha

The little years are definitely a slog. The disobey, they bicker, they make messes, and throw up at random times. And the worst part is you can't really get mad at them because when they act out it is often your fault. But...it does get easier.
My oldest is 10 now and it is worlds better. Hang in there.
