why did Obama send cash to Iran?
Was he trying to help Iran go nuclear as a counterweight to Israel?

To be honest, I don't know. The official story of "paying them off" to dissuade their ambitions seems suspect though.....

My recollection is that Obama just unfroze stolen Iranian funds, which is not the same as giving them money.

Yep, and I suspect it was a part of getting them to sign a nuclear treaty and comply. I'm not fan of Iran's gov but it's foolish to take US politicians at their word as well.
There has been a long desire by the neocons to bomb Iran. It was even when I was a kid in the 90s

You know how Democrats lie about Trump? Republicans did that about Obama.

I also recall that their complaint about Obama's foreign policy was that the seven nations he attacked weren't enough.

"A Clean Break" (proposal that Israel regime change itself to Gaza solution) - was authored for Ben Netanyahu by the very same people who wrote "Project for a New American Century".
We are just seeing their dream finally play out.

Yep, Iran is the seventh of the seven nations they wanted to destroy.

Hmm, that could explain some of the stuff I was seeing on pro-israeli media about how Israel is finally safe and the "last remaining existential threat has been defeated": #1012679

that nuclear deal was a facilitator for Iran's nuclear ambitions
Obama and Kerry etc want a nuclear Iran

That's a common opinion. I'm not convinced. What evidence makes you think this?
And by "nuclear Iran" what do you mean. Weapons, or nuclear power?
FWIW, I'm of the opinion that the world would be much better if all people had access to nuclear power.

Nuclear weaponry
Iran doesn’t need nuclear energy. They can use oil and gas

I think they were frozen funds from previous sanctions that the US wasn't able to use for anything. Perhaps they were delivered as cash. That rings a bell.
