I installed AlbyHub in Docker. I go to Settings in the Hub, Debug Tools and hit Get Info
One line stood out to me:
"albyAuthUrl": "https://getalby.com/oauth?client_id=[REDACTED]&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fgetalby.com%2Fhub%2Fcallback&response_type=code&scope=account%3Aread+balance%3Aread+payments%3Asend&state=unused",
I'm not super technical. Is this saying that my node is reporting my balance and my payments back to Alby, like a ping so they can monitor active users, but also log their balances and transactions???
I think you can avoid the data sharing by using albyhub without an alby account. @Alby @bumi
Yes indeed. You can use your own domain and nwc relay

Thanks. I’m self hosting Alby without an Alby account, on the default LDK mode they spin up. I have only one private channel to a node I know. I’d have assumed this AlbyAuth thing should not be activated? I’m very concerned by the view transactions etc. I’ve not even got to the “own lightning address” or lnurl part yet.
Use your own relay if you do not want to depend on their servers to forward the requests:
