I certainly hope this is a mistake. If not, Elon has some splainin' to do. I have become a huge fountain fan recently.
Twitter is broken. They have a huge problem with bots, so they have automated systems that can suspend an account -- especially after other users have reported an account for abuse (e.g., "spam"). This provides an attack vector for Botmakers who don't like the automated systems. The botmakers then will essentially cause Twitter to nuke even valid accounts, in the hopes that the automated systems get defanged, and thus the bot accounts too are less like likely to be suspended in the future.
So, I suspect if Fountain appeals, multiple appeals, if necessary, that somehow the account will get un-suspended.
But Twitter is just absolute dog shit. We really need to find better solutions. And no, it's not going to be Mastodon either. Hoping that is something like nostr or if not, then some other decentralized approach.

I'm sure it's a mistake. Almost every time someone's account gets shut down it's usually a result of some shit AI getting tripped or report brigading. People love to use it as an excuse to play ideology martyr for likes though (not saying OP is doing this).

Yea exactly. Of all the "toxic maxis" Twitter could block, Fountain is waaaaay at the bottom of the list. They're friendly maxis!
