Elon: the 2 party system is tyranny, besides they're really just 1 party, so here's a new party...and now we're back to a two party system?
I don't really take anything Elon says seriously, because it's really hard to ignore the fact that most of the time he says stuff that influences markets in a way that benefits him, but all the same...I think he's claiming he's going to start a new party?
I was alive the last time a somewhat off-the-rails billionaire launched a political party, and other than one MN governor, that never went anywhere. Not expecting much here.

He was onto something when he tried to reform/influence existing political parties. This is foolish imo.
As Massie says in this interview, the two parties are so engrained that they each have special chambers in congress. If you belong to some third party, you're at a significant disadvantage, and politics is a game of millions of inches.

Good points. However, I don't think his success case for DOGE was reform.
I'm not so into conspiracy land that I think all this is some orchestrated dance, but even when he was running DOGE, they were barely scratching the surface. I don't believe the guy who can run all the various things Elon is running actually thought DOGE was going to achieve meaningful reform. There's got to be something else going on.
As to the two parties...if the Bull Moise guys couldn't get a third party going, what hope have we?

Not yet, only one conditions (2) have been met, for this market to resolve we need both (1 and 2) the conditions to be met:
  1. A new political party is formally registered with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) in the United States during the 2025 calendar year.
  2. Elon Musk is publicly and credibly identified as the founder, co-founder, or principal organizer of the party — either through his own statements (including posts on X), or via attribution in at least two credible mainstream media sources (e.g., Reuters, Bloomberg, New York Times, CNN, Fox News).

It seems to me that Elon throws out ideas like a test tube to gauge reactions, and often does so based on his own financial interests (obviously, or the influence he can gain). If he really wants to create a new party, it remains to be seen whether it's just another media stunt (or if he's serious), although breaking up the "duopoly" is almost impossible without becoming part of the same game.

First he thought he could solve government overspending by creating another government agency. Now he wants to fix the 'tyrannical two-party' system by creating a third one... 🤔

Did he even mention Bitcoin or 2FA once? If not, I ain't interested.... :-)
