I wrote a post a while back - I stopped listening to podcasts--I'm about twice as productive now.
So, I've stuck with that now about 3.5 months. But, I just installed a podcast app again, with some of the same podcasters (carnivore and bitcoin oriented, a little bit of politics).
Why? I'm feeling a little disconnected, a little like I'm not getting important news, not getting introduced to new ideas. Lonely, maybe.
I don't know which time, specifically, that I'm going to be using to listen to podcasts. It's not like I have a boatload of time that's not otherwise occupied. And I can't listen to podcasts and do anything else, unless I don't need to think at all (for instance during exercise, or cleaning, things like that)
I'll try this for a while, and see what it's like. Part of the problem is that podcast titles often over-promise and under-deliver. Then you've spent 30 minutes to an hour, and have really come away with nothing, except having some talk fill up your mind.
Well, I'll see how it goes. Thoughts?
