as I'm the better organized half of our life pair.
i suffer the same fate.
have you pulped any onions for meatballs lately? (oh, no! that sounds strange out of context doesn't it?)
i think about that each time i stand in my kitchen tearing up over my dollar-store cheese-grater and seive, shredding onions by hand to mix into ground beef. that was a fun post.

I have not pulped any onions recently. I haven't made koobideh burgers, which is what I usually do the result, in a minute.
Hand grating is hardcore! I found using a food processor too cumbersome even.

Food processors are cumbersome. I've tried both ways, but as it turns out, I hate getting it out and having to clean it even more than I hate hand-grating.

You're right. It's not so much the labor of the food processor, it's the cleaning.

there is definitely a sweet-spot for kitchen appliances in terms of (a) how much energy it saves me and (b) how unwieldy and complex they are.
i also have an espresso maker that is middle-tier. it makes a pretty killer brew, but the hassle of filling the water tank, waiting for it to heat up and then cleaning it after is enough for me to just settle for drip coffee.
