pull down to refresh

I have always been quite good at enjoying life's little pleasures, super low maintenance.

Recently, we have adopted a new dog, one of the random village street dogs that recently appeared. She was so nice-natured that we decided to take her home. We've worked with charities before and rehomed maybe 5 dogs, but we decided this one would be a keeper.

Quite often in the evenings, we'll just go outside with the kids and play fetch with her in the garden, then play a bit of catch with the kids. Noting mind-blowing, but I think, 'one day, they will be teenagers and won't want to come play catch with dad and the dog, and that will be a sad day'.

So I enjoy it for what it is, and it costs nothing, hence why I class it as a simple pleasure

What simple pleasures have you stackers been enjoying lately?

It’s important to stack these moments. They are the “sats” of life.

Sitting on a bench in a dog park, watching my dog run around with her canine friends.

reply

nice, it's great watching them have fun

I went to a neighborhood pool, which happened to be empty, and just floated in the sun, hat over eyes. In a pool you don't get hot, and the sun feels so good - and is so good for you.

reply

nice to get a rare moment of solitude in a public pool

Having a tiny muffin with coffee after dinner

delicious!

I don't know if it's a pleasure for others...
But for me it was. Today, when my alarm clock or cell phone alarm went off, I turned it off and hugged my partner and continued sleeping in....
I stayed with my family this Saturday...
And we had breakfast together...
It was a real pleasure!

not having the morning rush and taking time to chill and have a coffee is great, one of the classic simple pleasures!

One of my pleasures is to be able to pick 3-4 fruits from random trees I encounter and eat them while keeping an eye to see if someone saw me doing it. I know it's basically stealing, but I did this since childhood when we used to gather in gangs and "clean" whole trees of it's fruits. I am doing this with such a pleasure now as an adult, cause I now that one day I will not be able to that anymore so I am enjoying every time I can.
This is a simple pleasure for me.

This is beautiful — thank you for sharing!
There’s something deeply grounding about moments like that: no screens, no spending, just presence. The bond between family, a good dog, and a quiet evening is hard to beat.

For me lately, it’s been morning coffee under the trees while listening to birds, and stargazing at night when the sky’s clear. Also, just walking barefoot on grass — simple but calming.

Would love to hear what other stackers are enjoying too. Sometimes the little things are the most profound.
