Honestly, I was four years into the Air Force. My thought was "either do 4 or 20 (retirement)." I had a feeling my skillset suited being a teacher. The overriding thought was that I wasn't pleased with public education, and I could either talk shit about it or do something. Man in the arena, so to speak...
