Turns out 7000 is the target. Anything more still helps, but that's the big one for daily steps. 10K was a marketing thing.
I’ve noticed more step targets in apps at 7500.
I do feel like that’s about what I hit when I’m not a total lazybones but also not super active.

I still like 10k. 7k is too easy if you are a relatively active person.

I'll double it and aim for 15. (Mainstream "science" tends to get shit wrong, so I'll overdo it!)

nod And the article does say you keep gaining benefits, just at a reduced rate. My goal's going for more consistency -- I hit 15K yesterday, but barely 6K the day before.

The more you remain walking and standing, besides sleep time obviously, is always good for your health. It's not something that science should even look into. But there won't be news without it...
