Oh well, so the Stackers are running Predyx these days... @Undisciplined even consulting the @mega_dreamer team!
So, this was F1 weekend and I was finally in a place/time where I could binge-watch the whole thing. Looks like McLaren is crushing it, Verstappen is struggling, and the interesting outstanding bet comes down to whether Piastri keeps winning or Norris will catch up.
After today's races Piastri is +16, but with eleven weekends left to go there's PLEEEEN-TYYYY of points available: 291 if you win everything (11 races + 2 sprints) left for the season.
@TNStacker doesn't care, yolo-ing in like there's no tomorrow. I ran some numbers and made some guesstimate... and then, like all good knowledge peeps in the age of AI, ran it by Grok. Here's the assessed outcome:
So, low and behold, Predyx traders are basically spot on, Piastri trading at 61% and Norris at 33%. (or Grok follows publicly available sentiment and echoes traders??). The biggest diff is that we're slightly overweight Piastri (which is why I'm re-balancing to Norris) and the 15 vs 3 for Verstappen seems off (also, Verstappen's name is misspelled in the options on Predyx, Mr. Megadreamer).
Anyway, HAPPY TRADING EVERYONE!
Thanks for coverage of our F1 markets. Mucho appreciated.
I think the heading should be slightly renamed :)
Confessions of a Gambling Forecasting Addict: F1 Version
Well I think Predyx has become, Stacker.News' baby now. Now SN communion has the responsibility to nurture Predyx, and help it grow from an infant to an adulthood.
Predyx team had a great conversation with @Undisciplined last week and we're looking forward to long-term or even lifetime partnership. A lot is cooking under the hood at Predyx and exciting times are ahead of us.
Also apologies for the recent annoying bugs introduced in our new release, we're working hard to fix it as soon as we can. Hopefully all will be fixed by next week.

Hahaha yeah, sorry! You guys offer a forecasting platform, but I would never call my sillyness anything but gambling haha

We talked about your F1 betting on the recent episode of our pod. @Undisciplined was wondering if you are an actual F1 fan. I just presumed we had turned you into a degenerate. Haha.
I guess since you are watching and betting it is a bit of both.
reply
HAHAHA what?! I missed this... send me the episode (and time-stamp! I ain't freaking scrolling through an hour-plus of fake-football talk!)
reply
You seem to only enjoy sports that don't involve much physical movement. Ironic for a yogi.
reply
pff... why would the two have to align? I like moving; I like select sports.
(if it pleases your honor, I also like watching football -- the real, European kind -- and handball)
reply
Makes sense that you like the sport where guys mostly just stand around for 90 minutes.
reply
...which is why soccer (=football) players routinely run ~8-10k a game. Uh-hu; uh-hu.
What do your guys do, except dance and look silly in-between commercials?!
reply
10k must be a lot farther than I thought, if it takes 90 minutes to run that far.

I think AI is going to close the arbitrage in the future for sports betting. There are alot of people using it to bet in the bigger betting markets, and it generally has done many well.
reply
Forget AI, read a human assessment .... Verstappen is technically out of this because it would require him first to win at least 8 out of remaining races and before that he has to see both Norris and Piastri don't finish in top 3 in 5 of these races.
reply
yeah, the Stackers at Predyx has already traded that to more reasonable chances (3%)
