I don't think it ever launched. I kept trying to get the founder to launch it, to the point where I felt guilty for being pushy, but I got the sense that he felt like there was something he needed before he could launch it.
I miss Thomas, the founder. I haven't seen him for years now. My hope is he's just retired in some tax haven like everyone's stereotypical bitcoin fantasy.
I really enjoy the film. I have watched it a few times. It's probably got a lot to do with the SN connection. I get the sense that Austin really is a special place for bitcoin. I like @Car's cofounder too. There is something sad about those last scenes of him in Pittsburgh. I hope he's well.
Ya I’m not really a fan of the documentary because of the ending. Lot of people in Austin, that I’ve talked to feel the same. Made it more about PlebLab and a single individual and less about the movement that was going on at the time, it was a whole community like literally close to 800-1000 Bitcoiners at the first ever Bitcoin Block Party in Austin. It also made it seem like PL died or something, which just pissed me off tbh. It’s no one’s fault but it’s just the filmmakers interpretation of the events unfolding.
I can imagine how you feel. Maybe I'm biased, but the doc really gives me, at least, a lot more appreciation of what you guys have built there. When I saw Wolf in NYC, which is really impressive, and then seeing your operation, they seem the same, and both fantastic incubators. I'm listening to Gday Bitcoin episode with Kyle Murphy right now.
Wolf have been great partners to work with and learn from as well. We are positioning ourselves for the Bitcoin era. I plan on writing about this at some point but Startup Day and Startup School has taken up most my time this summer.
I love Thomas he had such a great spirit and tenacity. Seeing him and Super together was something else entirely in those early days of PlebLab, really special guy. It never launched and he currently still resides in Houston as far as I know. I learned a ton from working with him on his project, still haven’t seen the documentary so not sure what they showed.
