Please excuse my aggressive "let's go" attitude.
I just re-watched the talk and the first part (basically the ultimate mission statement: enabling permissionless business/collaboration) is compelling. But since the app doesn't seem to have gained traction there is something missing, the question is what.
It can be as simple as it not reaching the right people, but it can also mean that the solution in its current form isn't viable, and that something else is needed. But there really is only one way to find out and that is to get a couple of people to commit to such a decentralized project and to problem-solve as it goes. Doesn't have to be a full-time endeavor.
For example, would you want to run your SN mining pool idea (#917675) as such? Or have you thought of something more desirable in the meantime?
That is a good idea. I kind of left that in limbo because I have limited technical know how, and once I installed knots I ran into a mess with my server. It took a while with Start 9 support, and I finally got things straightened out. I am still running knots on the Start9 with a CLN node that has been very stable for a month or two, but then I got side tracked and didn't think about the idea again. If I recall correctly, it was datum that caused the server issues. At least that's how it seemed to me. Maybe I'll try again.
