I am late, I haven't been browsing the territory, but to amend this I just subscribed. I'll try out a sober critique on this idea: I think you over-solutioned the problem. I think ~the_stacker_muse is the writing club. If you begin to leave the critiques you want to see, it can catch on. Especially as the founder, you have the power to shape it. Perhaps you make a weekly post each week, borrow from anywhere on stacker news, and give your critique of the writing you saw. This partner business would feel awkward for me, personally - and really in just a scheduling sense. I do agree that having a dedicated reader is extremely beneficial, but the amount of commitment it requires, I find it works when it's natural. Speaking from my own experience. Which means it isn't always consistent, but when you ask for it, you have it. You may have already rethought and reshaped the idea since you posted this.
