I have a visceral dislike of podcasts that have seasons. It makes little sense for the format unless
  1. you're taking huge, regular breaks between "seasons"
  2. there's a single subject/narrative explored in each "season"
Otherwise it seems like a kind of importance inflation or something merely vestigial.
