Bitcoin is living rent free in his head!!

Honestly I do find a lot of Bitcoin media to be a bit too right-wing on some issues. There are a lot of podcasts that I started out liking but later unsubscribed from because of their views on some non-Bitcoin things. Just because I disagree with them on certain political (or politicized) stuff, doesn't mean that Bitcoin is bad or they are wrong about it.
I only skimmed the article, but seems like he's trying to make us out as some sort of hivemind with monolithic beliefs. Like every podcaster speaks for every person in the Bitcoin community. Like they say shit and we all just believe it and adopt their views. In my opinion anyone who reads this bullshit he wrote and buys it is the imbecile he is referring to.

Peter McCormack does a great job interviewing both left and right 🤙🏽
USA audience thinks he is progressive
UK people think he is anarchist

Always the same garbage. Crypto = bitcoin = stupid. They never start with the 12+ years of uptime, the zero security failures of the protocol, the fact it resisted becoming more than a half terabyte of data at this point, or the pretty much commerce ready p2p payment routing protocol Lightning.
He starts by saying "most cryptos are just making money off inflation" and then tries to say that Bitcoin is suffering terrible inflation. No, only in the fake ledgers of FTX and co.
Nassim Taleb is a very confused man these days.

I, much like the author of this article, love the smell of my own small intestine too. Can't get enough.
Name drops and word association is the first sign of critical thinking skills. As well as confirming your own bias.

Yeah but in the opposite way the author means.
Clearly a nocoiner wrote this article.
Not owning BTC makes you an imbecile. Eventually the author's children will use this article as reason for their impoverishment.

Dear fellow Korean,
I'd say, look into who the author NNT is (he wrote the preface for that other attention-lady-of-the-evening's Bitcoin book), but in the end, you'll be better off not knowing who he is... Toxicity exists among coiners and no-coiners, unfortunately.
reply
I'm not Korean. I was just vacationing in the demilitarized zone and now I "work" in a windowless concrete bunker in what I think is still North Korea.
Does the sun still rise?

‘attention lady of the evening’ 😆

A good enough title, applied to Taleb.

Can someone explain to me what happened to Taleb? He used to support Bitcoin big time and then changed his tune one day?
reply
Saifedean was trying to convince him that his stance on COVID was idiotic in private DMs. Nassim kept advocating for lockdowns, vaccines and all kinds of stuff that proved to be completely idiotic and basically couldn't take the L. So he blocked Saifedean and went on to speak at a BSV conference of all places and started railing against BTC.
Since then, he's been exposed as a financial fraud as he's apparently lost a ton of money on his fund. But basically, COVID is what happened and he's been wrong on all of it.
reply
Hey thanks for the explanation. I read Skin in the Game and found it interesting but his written style is difficult and ‘intense’, like he is on edge.
reply
Jimmy summarised it nicely, but if you were still curious then I believe Saifedean talks about the whole affair in this episode of his podcast:
Although Taleb once supported Bitcoin, I don't think he's ever had more than a surface level understanding of it.

It's the swings they will get to anyone eventually

Price swings?
reply
Ahhh, good ol Nassim
Is he crying again?
