pull down to refresh

my star waitress you are
the best one in town
i love you so dearly
but girl you feeling kinda down

got smoked from your job
your light shone too great
now idiots run the joint
bad service is now my fate

date we do in secret
holding hands on market square
i know you wanna kiss me
yet despite you still care

for failsafe boyfriend
he is so fucking dumb
won't ever see the real you
leaving you out to numb

pornstar martini
pack of lucky strikes
oxytocin depleted
prozac cola the likes

you end up in hospital
and don't know why
doctor, bf utterly clueless
why my waitress’ gone awry

girl you are not worthless
why do you deeply deny
exist in my universe
or fade away to dust

and die

Was this originally intended to be set to music? It has that feel. Thanks for posting. This along with the poem you submitted about two weeks ago has to be included in the poetry index. Sometimes I forget to update.

Thanks. No, that was not the intention but would be great if it got to that stage one day. I make music, but not to make it fit to lyrics. I wonder how that comes together.

Usually the beat and melody come first, then the lyrics are found, not the other way around.

Such honest emotion and care in your words. I hope she can feel your love and strength behind every line. Sometimes the brightest lights need a little help to shine again
