Merlin's one of my favorite apps. Great for both audio and visual IDs, and tracks all your sightings. It's also legit free (as opposed to freemium).

I use Merlin Bird ID it's like Shazam for birds. Have you tried it? Not just with sounds, you can go through a quiz and describe a bird and it just gives you a list of birds that you might be describing, and the first two are often correct. Works offline, is free.

I need to find it outside the play store for my graphene phone. I have only used it second hand because I can't bring myself to touch an iPhone. I only watch over her shoulder.

I'm afraid if I use it I'll start trimming my beard and walking around in black turtlenecks.
