130 sats \ 1 reply \ @cryotosensei 19h \ on: Why do you use SN? and other questions AskSN
A user called @HattyHats blogged about SN on a writing platform called Publish0x. Posted on and off, but became a regular poster/commentator when I realised that people here type long-form responses (which I like)
I’m surprised no one else mentioned the cowboy hat because the will to hold on to it is fuel for me to make my appearance here every day.
I like that I understand more about the world, thanks to the different perspectives and lived experiences from Stackers. It makes my pedestrian life a bit more exciting and meaningful haha. I never cease to be amazed at how different Stackers come to similar conclusions about life based on their different paths. This universality to me is mind-boggling and attractive.
I am motivated to post here as a result of different motivations:
- to declutter my papers and photos (using SN as a repository of my experiences)
- as a journal (to not let the daily moments slip by)
- as a sounding board (I don’t mind unburdening myself in front of friends and making myself vulnerable, but it isn’t always the case that my friends can be there for me when I most need a listening ear. I find that SN fulfills my need to be seen and heard in those pivotal moments)
- the sats I accumulate here go straight to my beer and snacks fund, courtesy of Bitrefill. What’s not to like about beer and snacks?
Thanks for the questions! Fun to answer
Yes, SN is a great sounding board. A lot of people here who will actually engage with you and not just post jokes or memes or look for fights.
