So, I was using the Sparrow wallet (on my Ubuntu box) application to load two wallets .

  • A soft wallet for small spending, for which I also have the BIP 39 seed words
  • A watch only wallet imported via XPub

But recently I also started up Knots (and it is still synchronising with the blockchain, almost 90% done). So I am wondering, Knots, in addition to being a node, a wallet application too? If so, I do not need Sparrow in the box, right?

So can I import the above two wallets (the spending wallet, as well as the watch only) to the Knots, totally getting rid of Sparrow? In Knots I do not see any option to import

  • BIP 39 words
  • Xpub

So is it possible? Or, to make use of it, somehow Sparrow should connect to my knots node, instead of one replacing the other?

TLDR:
I want to run knots, and if it includes the BIP 39 and watch only functionalities of sparrow, then want to remove sparrow.

A Bitcoin node (Core or Knots or whatever) is NOT supposed to carry a hot / cold wallet. They are supposed to just serve blocks info.

You connect that Sparrow wallet to a Bitcoin node to be able to read the blocks and txs.
Importing a Sparrow wallet into Knots is just stupid and useless.
