Oooh... they mean accounting as in creating LN accounts, not accounting as in automating the work of accountants.
After re-reading the post that definitely reduces my WTFs/sentence.

This is an exciting development, however the documentation seems to be very light and there appears to be some thoughts about migrating from BlueWallet's LndHub database, but it doesn't look complete. For most people presently using LndHub this is a necessary feature so as to not lose your transaction history and to not have to re-create all your accounts.

just came across this post. I am working on that project and for sure I want to have a migration tool to migrate the DB from the lndhub JS version. We did not need it because our installation started from scratch. I think there is also a bounty for the migration tool up.

In general, we believe that community banking concepts and shared-custody of funds among community or circle of friends are very helpful for Bitcoin adoption. LNDhub provides a simple accounting solution that makes it possible for everyone to provide lightning accounts to their friends and family.
We have decided to write an implementation of LNDhub in Go that focusses on simplicity, maintainability and ease of deployment.
