"Ignorance is generally bliss"..

I read this in a common comment from @stack_harder here on Stackers News, and it made me think.

I've been constantly learning and absorbing good information on everything related to BTC for a year, and along the way, I've discovered many things, especially on the economic side, which has led me to a very critical approach.

And when I try to share what I've learned with others, especially my partner, I think it makes me feel a little helpless when their interest in the topic isn't the same.

I mean, without meaning to offend others, it's as if they don't want to know more. Or the mere thought of learning or reading something new makes them uncomfortable.

What do you think?

I do not think that "ignorance is happiness"

I think it is an illusion. Since ignoring the other important things in the world your own world is summarized to the 4 things you know, and your mind is locked in that box, sometimes a comfortable box and on occasions not so much.

I think that in your own words there is the answer you are looking for.

You mention that your mind and your way of thinking have changed after studying, after awakening and understanding that there was a world that you did not know (money, savings, economy, investment, privacy, self -ustody, among other aspects to which it leads us to learn about Bitcoin)

And that others, or specifically your partner does not understand you or simply does not follow the steps. And that happens because she is not changing her mind just like you, and that change is not taking place because she is not consuming the same information as you. It is the key.

Data: I say this with all conviction of the world, I lived the same experience with my partner, until she decided to start learning about the "bitcoin" theme

there's a reason people say that ignorance is bliss! plenty of people that are, basically, thick as shit, are perfectly happy, for me personally, i would rather get as much 'truth' as possible and then just roll with it.

You can't be happy in ignorance.

Firstly, I define happiness as a continuous construction of a long-term state of general satisfaction with life. This differs from temporary satisfaction, such as the taste of a good meal, social media or drugs.

Thus, those who ignore reality will have to face its consequences soon or later. Right now, I'm seeing many unhappy people that don't know what is causing their lives to get more difficult (inflation and government). And they don't want to learn economics.

They could resort to temporary satisfaction and even get addicted. And those have costs as well, since food will get harder to acquire as everything is getting more expensive. So, when life arrive on a very extreme low point, they either buy satisfaction or die hungry. This may result in similar events like in Nepal, or in horrible environments, like narco-states.

I don't know any early prudent bitcoin hodler who's less happy now than the first day that they begun to quit the fiat system. But for the ignorant people, I'm seeing more and more of their unhappiness with life by looking at their faces.

Totally agree with your words. And the most incredible is that if one of these people asks how they could solve their problems, more than 80% will say that with money. And then you ask what money is? Or if they really know how that thing they call the solution of their problems (money) does not know what to say.

And if you add that then they should unlearn and then really learn what money is and how it works, to see things clearly, then they call you crazy. 🤷

I like the idea that Bitcoin improves and changes the approach to happiness, which is true because it frees your mind, and through Bitcoin, your freedom is total. I'm grateful for having fallen down the rabbit hole. Thanks for your response 👌

Ignorance is not something to be desired, but knowledge without hope also just leads to sorrow.
