we don't do anything over here in NL the only fun fact i can muster is that the word harvest is the same as the season's name, herfst. But no dutchy knows that except me. Okay, a handful maybe. That's all the ancestral knowledge i got to spare.

That’s pretty interesting I love how words transform but still retain their original meaning! 🍁

the interesting part to me is that apparently in the past there was no distinction between the season and the activity of harvesting. Similarly, most dutchies don't work the land, so another word got developed. The meaning in dutch isn't retained, as we have the word 'oogst' for harvest and herfst means autumn. Same as old english hærfest is not in use anymore in modern english.
