Today I took my oldest son to school, which is a few blocks from home. As we were leaving, it started to rain. So, I said, "A good time to run home." It's been a while since I've done that. So, like a "good athlete," I started running home. The rain was in front of me, setting the pace. After a few minutes, I was home, my heart beating 200 revolutions per minute, my mouth dry, and my feet crying out for help. I think it's time to start making it a routine. My body keeps crying out for help every day. I think it's time to get out of the comfort of the house and start running at least 30 minutes a day. It can't be that a 5-minute run has completely destroyed me, hahaha.

I've been fitfully trying to get into my routine. The people who post about their efforts seem to be making progress. Accountability is good.

People who set goals with external accountability are 64% more likely to achieve them and that number goes up to 95% if there's weekly accountability.

I distinctly remember the pain I felt playing basketball again after years of not doing any rigorous exercise

Running is great and I've been running more recently but strength training should be like personal hygiene.
Don't skip your exercise like you don't skip brushing your teeth.

I'm at 15 miles for the week and I'll probably run at least a mile before I take a shower this morning.
