Any Ideas on where I can find a job in Bitcoin
I currently work as a Formalities Specialist at an Intellectual property law firm.
I have a military and banking background and prefer remote work.
I've used Indeed/Pomp Crypto Jobs/Bitcoiner Jobs/Crypto Currency Jobs as resources
I'm tipping any helpful comments and advice,
reply
What was the result/feedback of your efforts on Bitcoiner Jobs?
reply
Haven't found too many opportunities, but I'm attempting to apply to a job a day.
reply
You mean you haven't found jobs that are a good fit for your skills? What kind of opportunities are you looking for specifically?
reply
I've been looking at mostly customer service, I've applied to Casa and Kraken so far.
I'm also contracted as an Internet Safety Evaluator with Telus International, and have experimented with running a soleprop to take advantage of remote side hustles.
I'm pretty much looking for anything that I can get, that will put me in the Bitcoin space
Was looking into Compass mining and different exchanges as well.

definitely come to meetups and conferences and make frens. in bitcoin its who you know. also come to austin sometime

Okay, a few tips:
  1. apply for things you're interested in doing but are maybe not entirely qualified for yet - it's better to overshoot a bit and you might be a better fit than you think
  2. make a list of all the bitcoin companies you're aware of/interested in and visit their websites and look for a career page, e.g. https://unchained.com/careers/open-jobs/ (bitcoiner jobs has a proper subset of all available jobs)
  3. even if they don't have a job listed that sounds right - it doesn't hurt to write a short email via their email address/contact form on their webpage asking if they are hiring for such and such role
  4. If you're near a bitcoin meetup go there, network, and let people know you're looking for a job

I created a fresh environment that appears to be not broken. I'm probably going to point DNS to it some time today.
I wouldn't hate dev ops if the ops were faster.

  • I know stacker news is more inspired by hacker news than reddit but do you plan on introducing something like subreddits or topic-tags?
  • Also, I wouldn't be against reasonable ads (maybe small tiles on the right side) and thus giving free posts & comments to active users every now and then. It could also be implemented in a crypto way: let people upload jpeg & pay for it via lightning.
reply
We’ll definitely do topic subs eventually - once the site is bigger.
I’m hoping we can monetize without ads but that’d be a lightning native way to get them.

If someone clicks on Login and then accidentally (or not) clicks the Login with Lightning button, the "spinner" is waiting at "waiting for you".
There's no obvious way to cancel / get back to the home page. Of course, I know I can click the Stacker News or any other link, but perhaps for better UX, adding a "Cancel" there might help some n00bs.
reply
The back button works but yeah maybe a cancel would help
