I was never into the superhero movies. In the 5 years prior to covid I went to see at least 14 movies in theaters.

Edit: and there were several more I wanted to go see but couldn’t get anyone else to watch with me.

In the last 5 years I’ve been to the theater once and that was to see Top Gun Maverick. There’s nothing compelling for me anymore and it makes me sad

I feel the opposite. For over a decade there was nothing but superhero slop in the cinemas. So I almost never went. Now there are actually good movies again and I go somewhat regularly again.
