To be honest I have no idea.... I figure medical emergencies they kinda are forced legally to let you but otherwise it seems like and I could be wrong that you might have to cancel a dr appointment. I feel like most of this is really aimed at people traveling and stopping that and I am sure most offices are flexible with stuff like Dr. appointments but yeah otherwise ya kinda gotta cancel everything....
I think you can still call in sick. It's just that you can't actually use sick leave. From what I understand, you go into furlough status for the days you miss.
