Google is the worst of all. I avoid sign in with Google at all costs. There is no reason for ChatGPT to require personal info, specially Phone Number, to sign in.
There is a reason: they want less bots using the service.
Add captchas, or some other method.
Asking for huge amounts of user personal info is not the way to go, they will get hacked eventually and all users info will be leaked, it's just a matter of time.

Just use fake data, a VPN and an SMS verification service, and you won't share any personal information.
Too much work. They shouldn't ask for personal info in the first place. They won't be able to keep it safe, they will get hacked eventually and users info will get leaked. There is no good reason for them to ask personal info specially phone number, it looks shady and it smells shady, therefore i won't use it, even though i know it's an amazing tool, but my Privacy comes first, always.

I never used it, neither i plan to in the future. If you wan to use ChatGPT you have to register and give out tons of personal info Name, Country, Age, Phone Number, it's shady af.
