This was mentioned on a recent No Agenda podcast and is a prime example of probably thousands of things where corporations are actually promoting things against the interests of the people. There are many other examples that are different. Regulatory motes for example.
Recently had a conversation with a couple people complaining about Trump voters but they kept saying "late stage Capitalism" and didn't like it when I made some comparisons to Obama's policies.
Its hypocrites all the way down folks. Politicians are not going to fix this. Its not a broken system. Its how the system works.
I'm not opposed to the phrase "Late Stage Capitalism" but I think I prefer "Crony Capitalism" or simply "Regulatory Capture".
If I encounter someone using the word, i'd probalby get them to articulate what they mean. What's "late stage" about it. Was the capitalism ever good? How did it evolve?
As long as people understand that our current economic structure is very far from what economists envision by a competitive free market.

"Late Stage Capitalism"
Screams "I listened to Marxists influenced professors".
"Crony Capitalism"
Screams Ron Paul / liberty movement
"Regulatory Capture"
Rand fan or maybe a republican / libertarian.

They were talking about the early church being closest to Communism vs. Capitalism so I was trying to get them to define Communism. They didn't describe communism. They described a voluntary free market society... but used Communism as the word to describe it...
I did say that what we have isn't Capitalism but rather Crony Capitalism. I like free market as a term to describe what we need.
I told them, you can't use a word that people have a very specific idea about to describe something very different if you want to be clear.
This might sound crazy, but I think myself and maybe many of us have UNDERESTIMATED the influence of leftist economics and political thought on the masses. The vast majority of these people reject the idea that this stuff comes from Marxism at the root. They wave that off. Wild to watch.

They don't seem to enforce front license plates in California, AFAICT.
I really don't want to glue something onto the front of my car.
reply
Really? Pretty sure they do. At least they used to.

It's been about 2 years with no incident for me. I might just be skating on thin ice though.

Interesting. Well... good luck. I've never tried to use one plate. But I know people that have skirted MANY rules for vehicles.
