Made it to 2 years of 100+ pushups per day
I was supposed to do it for a week, as an experiment. I didn't even take a proper "before" picture or whatever. In any case, doing it for the week was surprisingly easy. So I continued...
It wasn't always easy though. I was roadtripping around Australia when I started. I remember pulling up at around 2 AM to a hotel after a detour in the outback due to road damage, after a long day of driving, only to force myself to the ground and start the pushup routine.
I also travelled (read: changed timezones) a fair bit, was sick for almost the entire month of May this year, did some 40+ hour workweeks (physical labor) on top of my usual work with Satoshee, my writing and other interests... but in any case, it was always doable. There was never a moment where I was so sick and so tired, that I couldn't push out 5x25 pushups or 3x42 pushups or anything in between. So there was never an excuse.
The first 6 months provided the most profound impact. Within those 6 months, I also went from 100+ to 120+ per day, started utilizing more variations of pushups (i.e. pike pushup, diamond pushup, spiderman, etc.) and made an acquaintance with sleeping on the floor (a yoga mat) - which I'm still doing on and off (I mostly sleep on the floor nowadays, but unfortunately I've gotten so used to it that one of the original perks - the desire to get up as soon as you wake up in the morning due to being uncomfortable - is gone).
Also, to be perfectly clear, I'm not doing only pushups. I do yoga daily (usually combine yoga + calisthenics). I hike and/or walk on almost a daily basis. This summer I also finally took up running (although been slacking now that the weather's getting cold). I don't really do gyms tho. If anything, the pullup bar and a couple of lightweight dumbbells are enough for me to spice up the sesh.

I have also been practicing handstands (on and off) since about a year before I started doing the pushups... got myself a set parallettes a few months ago, which I'm very happy about. I haven't been as locked in on doing the handstands as I have with pushups, though. I must get to it. I'm yet to do something I've wanted to do for a long time... a handstand pushup. As such, the journey continues...
