Pretty fascinating to see this result. An analysis of 500 years of data has shown extinction rates are going down. This does make since as people are now much more aware and there are efforts underway to prevent more loss. Does throw a lot of "we are near a mass extinction event" talk into the trash though.

This is not surprising to me but just as I am skeptical of all of the dooms day climate change alarmism I wouldn't just jump on this since it isn't negative.
Its important to look at incentives in regards to negative things around nature. One doesn't get government money to find that things are great!
